Free State Copperhead Pale

Hopry Short # 4 | Free State| Copperhead Pale Ale | 6% ABV
Pale Ale / IPA | Rating: 84/100

Drinking local beer is a bit of a big deal to me. I think it’s very important to not only support small breweries, but it’s also important to support local breweries. Free State Brewing is about a 40-minute drive from my house. It’s located in the college town of Lawrence, KS, home of the Kansas Jayhawks. I’ve been to the brewery / restaurant numerous times to drink their beer, but only recently have you been able to purchase them in bottles. The Copperhead Pale is one of four to be released in bottles by the small brewery. While you can only get them in the city of Lawrence thus far, they plan to branch out a bit within the state of Kansas soon. This one in particular is a nice hoppy pale with a citrus and malt base that gets lifted by a nice amount of bittering and aromatic hops. It uses Cascade, Chinook, and Centennial hops to create a nice aroma out of the glass. Not to damn bad for a beer from Kansas…
