After the Show # 5 | “Peat”

Minutes after I ended my review for the Mikkeller Rauch Geek Breakfast, a subtle difference occurred that I felt was worthy of discussing. The smokey character originally started (and remained I should say) as crispy bacon, but after some time in the glass you could really start to pull out the peated malts that were used in this beer. I have to tell you that it made me pretty happy to experience that flavor because I had just wished this six months ago…

    No question I will look for it. I am going to be brewing up a peated Wee Heavy pretty soon, I will be using some Oak Chips on that beer as well. If it turns out good I will send ya a bottle.
